Hoopstars registration ends Friday
The Bastrop Hoopstars will be accepting registration through noon, Friday for the spring season.
The league is open to pre-K through sixth grade students and is open to both boys and girls.
Cost of registration is $60 and forms can be found online at www.bastropisd.augusoft.net or at the community services office. Forms may also be requested by e-mailing scbelcher@bastrop.isd.tenet.edu.
Forms may be dropped off or mailed to Community Services, 906 Farm Street, Bastrop, TX 78602.
BMS boys go 1-3 against Elgin
The Bastrop Middle school seventh grade boys “A” team picked up BMS’ only win over it’s county rival.
The “A” team defeated Elgin 53-22. Raylon Hickey was the top scorer with 16 points. Dusty Nalley played a great defensive game.
Elgin’s “B” team defeated Bastrop 27-21. Mason Homesley led Bastrop with 10 points.
The eighth grade “A” team fell to the Wildcats 42-20 with Jacob Wright scoring a team-team high 6 points.
Romello Wilson’s 21 points was not enough for the eighth grade “A” team, as Elgin picked up a 66-58 win.
BMS 7th “A” team goes 2-1 in tourney
The Bastrop Middle School seventh grade “A” team won two of its three games this past weekend at the Seventh Grade “A” Tournament in San Marcos.
Bastrop defeated Dripping Springs 31-23 Friday and then lost to San Marcos Goodnight Saturday morning 35-16.
In the afternoon game, Bastrop defeated Cedar Creek 32-17.
BMS girls fall to Elgin
The Bastrop Middle School girls basketball teams went 1-3 against their county rival Elgin Dec. 10.
The seventh grade “B” team was the only one to pick up a win, defeating Elgin 22-6. Jesenia Leon was the player of the game.
The seventh grade “A” team lost 40-4. Macy Kana was the top player.
The eighth grade “B” team lost 22-12 with Bridgett Ferem leading the way.
The eighth grade “A” team lost 52-38. Brittany Reed and Rebecca Roe were the top players.
BMS girls sweep Cedar Creek
The Bastrop Middle School girls basketball teams made a clean sweep over rival Cedar Creek Monday night.
The eighth grade “B” team picked up the biggest win, with a 32-6 victory over the Lady Eagles.
Melissa Perry and Lynzee Gilespie were the top players for Bastrop.
The “A” team won 37-23 with Taylor Spiller and Acaca Erhard leading the way.
The seventh grade “B” team won 37-10. Anjali Patel was the player of the game.
The “A” team won 24-14. Macy Kana and Alexus Rodriguez were the top players.
