The Baron de Bastrop Chapter of The Daughters of The Republic of Texas held their annual Christmas luncheon at the historic home of attorney Joe Tuck of Bastrop on Dec. 4.
Those attending were Connie Chapman, Fran Godwin, JoNell Majors, Kay McAnally, Kay Valenta, Patricia Brannon, Rene Tiroff, Vicky Rose and Mariann Laughlin
The Daughters enjoyed a covered dish luncheon in the dining room, which featured a large, Christmas tree and cabinets filled with antiques. They were then treated to a tour of the home, which was lavishly decorated for the Christmas season.
Membership in The Daughters of The Republic of Texas is open to all women who can prove direct lineal descent to a citizen who either fought for or gave aid to the Republic of Texas. Associate memberships are also available to women who have a non-direct ancestral link to a qualifying early citizen of the Republic of Texas, or who are interested in the preservation of our early Texas history.
