(An indictment is a formal accusation of a felony that is delivered by the grand jury after carefully considering the evidence that is presented by the prosecutor. An indictment is not a guilty verdict.)
The Bastrop County Grand Jury met on Dec. 21 and returned the following indictments:
* Juan Alvarez-Torrez, 25, of Elgin, aggravated robbery after he allegedly committed theft of property and exhibited a knife on Nov. 8.
* Armando Arredondo, 55, of Cedar Creek, possession of a controlled substance, namely cocaine, in an amount less than 1 gram on Oct. 24.
* John Ray Branham, 52, of Bastrop, burglary of a habitation with assault after he allegedly entered someone’s house without their permission, committed or intended to commit assault against that person and exhibited a knife on Sept. 29.
* Michael Anthony Chapman, 29, of Smithville, possession of a controlled substance less than 1 gram, namely cocaine, with intent to deliver, enhanced, on May 22, 2008. He was previously convicted of felony evading arrest or detention on July 13, 2004 and felony injury to a child on March 212, 2007, both in Bastrop County.
* John Bradley Ernst, 28, of Austin, possession of a controlled substance, namely Tetrahydrocannibinol, in an amount greater than or equal to 1 gram but less than 4 grams on Sept. 16.
* Charles Curtis Ervin 111, 28, of Bastrop, driving while intoxicated with a child passenger on Oct. 9.
* Autumn Kiley Gann, 32, of Cedar Creek, for assault against a public servant after she allegedly bit a jailer at the Bastrop County Jail on Oct. 19.
* Norman Wayne Gantt, 22, of Burton, possession of a controlled substance, namely cocaine, less than 1 gram on Aug. 8.
* Domingo Garcia III, 29, of Bastrop, Count 1: possession of a controlled substance, namely Benzylpiperazine, greater than 1 gram but less than 4 grams; and Count 2: possession of a controlled substance, namely Methylenedioxy Methamphetamine, greater than 1 gram but less than 4 grams, both on July 21.
* Reynaldo Martinez Garcia, 31, of Dale, indecency with a child, 2 counts, on April 8, 2007.
* Jimmie A. Gonzales, 46, of Smithville, driving while intoxicated, 3rd or more, on Oct. 4. He was previously convicted of an offense relating to the operation of a motor vehicle while intoxicated on Sept. 21, 1995 and April 23, 2001, both in Travis County and Oct. 7, 2008 in Bastrop County.
* Monica Angela Hooker, 36, of Bastrop, injury to a child on Nov. 10.
* Terrance Christian Hunter, 39, of Austin, theft of property less than $1,500, enhanced, after he allegedly took merchandise from a local store. He was previously convicted twice of theft, once on Feb. 28, 1990 and one on Aug. 14, 1990, both in Travis County; he also was previously convicted of felony robbery on June 3, 1991 in Williamson County and of felony possession of a controlled substance on May 11, 2001 in Travis County.
* Jason Frank Ignasiak, 22, of Bastrop, burglary of building, enhanced, after he allegedly entered a building without the consent of the owner and attempted to commit theft of money on Sept. 17. He was previously convicted of felony burglary of a building on June 16, 2005 in Travis County and on April 4, 2006 in Williamson County.
* Cynthia Ann Johnson, 47, of Bastrop, possession of a controlled substance, namely cocaine, less than 1 gram on April 10.
* Jonathan Wayne Kanada, 38, of Austin, retaliation, enhanced, after he allegedly threatened to harm a prospective witness on July 18, and was previously convicted of felony theft on Aug. 13, 1996 in Bastrop County, and burglary of a habitation, enhanced, after he allegedly entered a home without the consent of the owner and attempted to commit theft of property, namely a computer.
* Rolando Lopez, 33, of South Houston, driving while intoxicated, 3rd or more on July 26. He was previously convicted of an offense relating to the operation of a motor vehicle while intoxicated on March 6, 2000 and May 30, 2008, both in Galveston County, and on June 227, 2008 in Harris County.
* David Martinez, 27, of Bastrop, possession of marijuana greater than 5 pounds but less than or equal to 50 pounds on July 19.
* Bo Allen Markovsky, 17, of Bastrop, burglary of a habitation, after he allegedly entered someone’s home with the intent to commit theft of wine on Sept. 17.
* Bo Allen Markovsky, 17, of Bastrop, burglary of a habitation, after he allegedly entered someone’s home with the intent to commit theft of firearms, U.S. currency, liquor, sword and a laptop computer on Sept. 16.
* Cedric Davon Norris, 26, of Waco, aggravated sexual assault of a child, two counts, on July 1, 2001.
* Ronnie Joe Ross, 20, of Bastrop, burglary of a habitation, after he allegedly entered someone’s home with the intent to commit theft of firearms, U.S. currency, liquor, sword and a laptop computer on Sept. 16.
* Ronnie Joe Ross, 20, of Bastrop, burglary of a habitation, count one, after he allegedly entered someone’s home with the intent to commit theft of keys, firearms, coins and checks, and count two, unauthorized use of motor vehicle, both on Jan. 27.
* Mara Nicole Taylor, 24, of Pflugerville, delivery of a controlled substance, namely methamphetamine, greater than or equal to 4 grams but less than 200 grams on July 17.
* Danny Wayne Underwood, 43, of Bastrop, aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, after he allegedly set a house on fire with someone in it on Oct. 12.
* Alecandro Villasenor, 30, of Bastrop, driving while intoxicated with child passenger under 15 years of age, two counts on Oct. 5.
* Justin Thomas Waters, 18, of Bastrop, burglary of a habitation after he allegedly entered someone’s home without their consent and attempted to commit theft of property, a phone, on Nov. 9.
* Matthew Alan Waters, 22, of Bastrop, burglary of habitation with theft after he allegedly entered someone’s home without their consent and attempted to commit theft of property, a phone, on Nov. 9.
* Bruce William Weir, 49, of Smithville, possession of a controlled substance, namely methamphetamine, greater than or equal to 1 gram but less than 4 grams on July 12.
* Clarence Lee Wehmeyer, 60, of Elgin, driving while intoxicated, 3rd or more, on Aug. 1. He was previously convicted of an offense relating to the operation of a motor vehicle while intoxicated on Sept. 19, 1994 and on Oct. 220, 1995, both in Grayson County.
