A well-known Texas landscape painter is the subject of an art talk hosted by the Bastrop Fine Arts Guild on Tuesday, Feb. 2 at 7 p.m. at the Aqua Water Building at 406 Old Austin Hwy.
Representatives of painter Dalhart Windberg, who lives and works in Georgetown, will talk about Windberg’s lengthy art career and how he has sold over 200,000 prints. They will also talk about how to digitally print artwork. Admission is free.
Windberg, who was born in 1933, has spent many years journeying far beyond his Texas home, recording on canvas landscapes ranging from Rocky Mountain snowfalls to Texas Hill Country vistas. He also has a gallery on the downtown historic square of Georgetown.
In 1972, Windberg was the sole artist of the American Masters Foundation; seven years later, he was named Texas State Artist, according biography on his gallery Web site.
Between 1971 and 1978, 57 images of Windberg paintings had been published and, today, with more than 240 prints to his credit, he is still publishing and selling out editions.
