Bastrop basketball fans got a nice glimpse into next season.
The Bears defeated Connally 62-48 Tuesday night in their season finale at Bear Gym.
Bastrop (18-13) won twice as many games as they did in 2008-2009, and will return all five starters next season.
On Tuesday, Bastrop came back from a four-point halftime deficit and whipped up on Connally in the second half, outscoring the Cougars 36-28.
Josiah Monroe led Bastrop with 17 points while Jordan Roach had 15.
Bastrop also got 11 points from Chris Clark, who was playing in his second game on the varsity team.
Petey Thompson also added 10 points.
Bastrop, much like it has all season, got off to a slow start and trailed 18-9 at the end of the first quarter.
