Joe R. Alexander Jr., of Austin, died Tuesday, Feb. 16, 2010.
He served in the U.S. Army in WWII, was a life member of VFW and a charter member of VFW Post 8925.
Survivors include wife of 67 years, Leila; children: Joe III (Violet) and Betty (Larry) Burgess of Austin and Freddilee (Bill) Howell of Needville; six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Services were Saturday, Feb. 2. Burial followed at Upper Cedar Creek Cemetery in Cedar Creek.
