Softball: 3 area players chosen for all-star game

AUSTIN — Bastrop County will be well represented at the 11th Annual Austin Area All-Star Game on June 16 at Westlake High School.
Bastrop softball players Brittnay French and Jordan Mundine will join 2010 Bastrop County Co-Player of the Year Megan Moore, of Elgin, at the showcase.
To be invited, players must be nominated by their coaches.
Moore will join the North All-Stars while French and Mundine will play on the South team.
Moore, a two-time Bastrop County Player of the Year selection, led Bastrop County in RBIs and runs scored while posting a batting average above .400 for the second year in a row.
Mundine, an All-Bastrop County first team selection, led the county with 138 strikeouts in 130 innings pitched while posting an earned run average of 3.18.
French, a two-time Bastrop County Gold Glove winner, had a 97 percent fielding percentage and hit .436 this season.
