Elgin catcher Hillary Adams gave a verbal commitment to Sam Houston State University in Huntsville to play softball. Adams, a two-sport athlete at Elgin, was the 2010 Bastrop County batting champion with her .478 batting average. Adams became the first member of the Class of 2011 to give a verbal commitment.
