Monday, June 28, 2010 |
The Smithville ISD Board of Trustees accepted the resignation of head volleyball coach Mitzi Bell on Monday at its monthly meeting.
Bell was head coach of the Smithville volleyball team for one season.
Athletic director Justin Wiley said on Friday that he has already found a replacement.
Alice head coach and Wimberley native Kimberly Paisley will replace Bell as head coach of the Lady Tigers program.
Paisley played volleyball for the 2001 Class 3A state championship team at Wimberley and played four years at Texas A&M-Kingsville.
In other coaching news, Smithville assistant volleyball and girls basketball coach Holly Britain was named the new head softball coach at Smithville High School.
Britain takes over for Debbie Leaduers, who coached the program the last two seasons.
Britain was an assistant volleyball and girls basketball coach last year, which was her first year with the Lady Tigers athletic program.
She is a former softball player at Texas State and played for China Spring High School near Waco.
