The Bastrop Opera House will hold open auditions for two one-act plays by Eugene Ionesco, “The Bald Soprano” and “The Lesson.” The cast includes two female and one male role for “The Lesson” and three female and three male roles for “The Bald Soprano.”

Auditions will be held on July 11 and July 12 from 7-9 p.m. at the Opera House studio, which is behind the theater at 711 Spring Street.

Both plays employ illogical situations, unconventional dialogue, and minimal plots to express the apparent absurdity and humor of human existence

The plays are directed by Don Gooding, a member of the Bastrop Opera House family.  The performance dates are Oct. 8-10 and Oct. 15-16
