4-H cake auction supports many programs

The Bastrop County 4-H Program will sponsor its annual cake auction during homecoming in Bastrop on Saturday, Aug.7 at 1 p.m. at the American Legion Hall in Bastrop. 4-H youth from all areas of Bastrop County, including Smithville, Elgin, Bastrop, Paige, McDade, Rockne, Hills Prairie and Red Rock, will be baking cakes to be auctioned at the annual fundraiser.

Despite its rural character, Bastrop County’s current percentage of foreclosure filings is still among the highest in Central Texas, according to the latest statistics released by Realtytrac.com.
