Bailey was outside “doing his business” and was seen being picked up by a family (with two little girls) who had just finished dinner at China Buffet on Tuesday lost dogevening. It appeared they thought he was lost.  We have scoured the neighborhoods with flyers, check the shelters, vet clinics, and area businesses which is how we found out this much.  But I’m hoping you can pass this flyer along to your neighborhood list to see if anyone may have seen more or knows who may have him.  We know he is safe and probably being doted on…we just want to get our little Bailey home.

I gotta ask why the dog was out beside a major hiway alone and off leash.

Bailey is a regular at Goin’ Postal, where he hangs out with his owners who also own that business. I’m sure he just got restless and darted out while the door was open.

The people who picked him up may think they saved his life. Little cute doggie v car isn’t good news for the doggie. Sorry the people lost their pup. Hope they’ll be more careful with the next one.

@ lorene. I guess you have not been to Goin’ Postal or the China Buffet. It is not on a major highway. Also, Bailey goes out to potty. He is a very friendly dog and loves kids. What really is disturbing is, that the parents made no effort to ask any of the stores if they knew who the dog belonged to. I hope they indeed have seen this and returned him to his family.

Umm~ yeah, been there.. Feeder road to hwy 71 not major? Do hope the pup comes home, but they could have been passing through.. How do you get the word out to ALL the vets inTexas and surrounding states?.. Did he have a chip? (I hope)

    Gary,

The whole thing is that his owners did not have eye contact on this dog.

There are many dangers that can befall a 7 lb dog. There are many birds of prey that would have no problems going after a small dog like Bailey. It has happened in homeowners fenced in backyards where one would think that dogs are safe.

Another is other loose dogs. A loose toy dog has no protection against other loose dogs and some of those dogs would have no problems killing a dog as small as Bailey.

Dogs this small NEED to be on a leash when outside for their safety

I know Bailey and I know the Grays. If there ever was a lost dog, they would be the first to take him in and make sure he was properly cared for and would also be putting forth as much effort if not more to make sure the dog finds his owners safe and sound. I hate that this family has lost one of their family members in this way. I hate even more that there are adults somewhere that know they have taken in someone elses dog for their children to keep and have taught their children that it is ok to not look for the dogs proper owner and return him promptly.

Lorene- I can personally attest to the fact that the Grays would never have put this dog or any of their 3 other dogs in harms way. They have owned Goin’ Postal for 4+ years and have been taking all their dogs to work with them throughout the years. They have even been featured in the newspaper for having their dogs at work with them.

  8. Great News! BAILEY IS HOME!!! The family who found him at China Buffet was from Del Valle and finally saw our flyer in the RE/MAX window (thank you Kay Wesson) as they were going to Texan Eye Care to get one of the girls glasses. They called us immediately and we were able to pick him up tonight. Bailey was well taken care of by the family who also had a Yorkie. And while their Yorkie (Tiny) slept in a crate, our Bailey slept on a pillow in between the parents heads. Spoiled rotten – just like at home.

A huge thanks to all our friends, neighbors, customers and the Bastrop community for spreading the word and for helping us bring Bailey home. The Gray family is very excited to have him back in the comfort of our laps.

    Blessings,

    Mark & Renee Gray
