The 2010 Bastrop Citizens Police Academy class will begin a nine-week program on Thursday, Sept. 2 at 7 p.m. at the Bastrop Police Department, 104 Grady Tuck Lane.

Participants will meet and hear presentations from the department’s patrol officers, sergeants, detectives, school resource, code enforcement and animal control officers, plus the emergency management assistant coordinator.

A tour of the Bastrop County jail and dispatch center will be conducted. There will also be speakers from the district attorney’s office, the Family Crisis Center and the Children’s Advocacy Center.
