Lona Hill, 64, died Sept. 2, 2010.  She was born July 3, 1946 in Provo, Utah to William Dean Sams and Janis Fay (Hansen) Tipton.

Hill was preceded in death by her sister, Sandra Smith.

She is survived by her husband, Oliver K. “Tinker” Hill of Bastrop; two sons, Michael (Elizabeth) Pfeifer of Lawrence, Kan. and Steven (Paulette) Pfeifer of Huntington Beach, Calif.; daughter, Christina Shelton of Ft. Worth; parents; sisters, Debra Davis and Carrie Carter, both of Bastrop; 19 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, Sept. 7 at Marrs-Jones-Newby Funeral Home in Bastrop with burial following at Fairview Cemetery.
