Bastrop and Travis County firefighters battled a five-acre blaze in high winds Friday afternoon in southern Bastrop County off of Ferris Lane.

Yesterfest 2011 kicks off on Friday night, April 29, with the free “El Camino Real Music Festival” on Main Street between Chestnut and Spring streets. Saturday, April 30, will be the main day for the annual event which celebrates Bastrop’s history and heritage.
