With its new museum and visitor center under construction in downtown Bastrop, the Bastrop County Historical Society is holding a community-wide garage sale to help finish the interior of the new facility. The sale will be March 3 from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the BISD West Campus Building, 1602 Hill Street, Bastrop.
In preparation for the sale, the Society will be accepting items for donation at the sale location on the following dates and times: Wednesday-Friday, Feb. 15-17 (10 a.m. to 6 p.m.); Monday-Friday, Feb. 20-24 (10 a.m. to 6 p.m.); Saturday, Feb. 25 (10 a.m. to 3 p.m.); Sunday, Feb. 26 (2-5 p.m.); Monday-Wednesday, Feb. 27-29 (10 a.m. to 6 p.m.); and Thursday, March 1 (10 a.m. to noon). See Facebook http://www.facebook.com/events/276884339044185/ or www.VisitorBastrop.org for more information.
Nancy Scott, Sale coordinator, emphasizes, “While raising funds for the new Museum and Visitor Center, we will be providing those Bastropians putting together household after losses during the fire with a great opportunity to find furniture, household items and clothes in good condition. Of course, there will also be treasures to interest all of us. To make this a success we are urging our friends and neighbors to donate generously.”
The main sale on Saturday, which will be open to all, will be preceded by a Sneak Peek pre-sale and raffle, 6:00-8:00, Friday, March 2, when a $10 admission will be charged.
