Cedar Creek Park gearing up for spring season

As spring is rapidly approaching, park director Rick Brearer had this to say, “Hopefully you have been enjoying our county park and I have much to share with you regarding some improvements, projects, and what’s in store for our little piece of paradise…another Eagle Scout project in the Cedar Creek Park has recently been completed.

The bluettes are blooming! These are teeny tiny blue flowers that are about 1/8th of an inch across and have four little petals and the plants are only about two inches tall.

The City of Bastrop will be giving away free five gallon trees to City of Bastrop residents and those in the county who have been affected by the wildfire on Saturday, Feb. 11 beginning at 9 a.m. at the City of Bastrop Public Works Facility parking lot, 1209 Linden St.
