			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Carolyn Wright, 73, of Bastrop, passed away Tuesday, May 22, 2012.  She was born Sept. 10, 1938.  Carolyn was preceded in death by her husband, Jimmy Wright and <a rel="attachment wp-att-17326" href="http://bastropadvertiser.com/2012/05/22/carolyn-wright/obit-wright-pic/"><img class="alignright size-thumbnail wp-image-17326" src="http://bastropadvertiser.com/files/2012/05/obit-wright-pic-150x150.jpg" alt="obit - wright pic" width="150" height="150" /></a>parents, Edgar and Ruby Kreidel.</p>
<p>She is survived by her daughters, Sandra and husband Cass Callahan; and Cheryln and husband Dee Ellis; four grandchildren, Toni Ellis, Christopher Ellis, Blake Koenig and Ruby Callahan.</p>
<p>Carolyn was a member of Faith Lutheran Church. She was a homemaker and also worked at the Bastrop Advertiser for many years.</p>
<p>A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, May 24, 2012 at Faith Lutheran Church in McDade.</p>
<p>Memorials in Carolyn’s honor can be made to Faith Lutheran Church, P.O. Box 533, McDade, Texas.  Arrangements entrusted to Bastrop Providence Funeral Home.</p>

<p>Gary was born to C. Bruce and Marjorie Perrenot in Corpus Christi, Texas on May 20, 1951.  He is preceded in death by his parents.</p>
<p>Gary attended grade school in the Corpus Christi ISD at Carroll Lane Elementary, Baker Middle School and graduated from Mary  Carroll High   School in 1969.  After high school, he enlisted in the Navy where he sailed on the USS Saratoga where he learned computer and electronics programming. Upon his honorable discharge form the Navy in 1973 he attended Texas A&amp;M  University.</p>
<p>Gary served the State of Texas for 25 years as Automation Support at the Texas Department of Transportation until his retirement in 2002.  Throughout part of his tenure and after retirement, he worked for American Fireworks as a Superstore Coordinator where he programmed and developed an automated point of sell inventory system. Later, after American Fireworks, he began to consult on point of sell, computer and electronic systems for various surrounding central Texas businesses.</p>
<p>Throughout his life, Gary was trustworthy, loyal, helpful, friendly, courteous, kind, obedient, cheerful, thrifty, brave, clean and reverent to all who came to know him.  He remained devoted to these qualities his entire life. During his long five year seven month battle with colon cancer, he continued to be strong and active in all facets of his life up until the very end.</p>
<p>To all who came to know his presence Gary was: a Son, Husband, Father, Dad, Brother, Grandfather, Cousin, Friend, a devout Episcopalian, alter boy, a member of  Calvary Episcopal Church of Bastrop, Choir Singer, Cub Scout, Boy Scout, Eagle Scout, Scout Leader, Softball Umpire. Gary was also passionate about photography and music.</p>
<p>In addition to his wife of 30 years, Brenda, Gary is survived by his children Kevin Perrenot and wife Sara of College Station, Cody Lee Smith of Austin and Stephanie Perrenot of Bastrop. Gary leaves behind a brother Dwaine D. Perrenot and wife Sandra of Corpus Christi, grandchildren Jean Luc, Chance Perrenot, Ashley and Christopher Day.</p>
<p>Memorial service will be held at Calvary Episcopal Church, 603 Spring St., Bastrop,  TX 78602, at 7:00 PM on Thursday, May 24<sup>th</sup>, reception in the parish hall following the service.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the church in Gary’s name.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Joe Miller, 80, of Orange, died Sunday, March 18, 2012, at Orange Villa.</p>

<p>Born in Cameron Parish, Louisiana on March 28, 1931, Joe was the son of Dorcile and Lea (Suire) Miller. He worked at the rice mill for many years, but he also mowed lawns in the area for over thirty years. Joe was fun-loving and he enjoyed being around people. He especially loved and enjoyed his family. For the last year of his life Joe lived at Orange Villa, where he loved the staff and the other residents.</p>
<p>He was preceded in death by his wife, Louise Miller; and brothers and sisters, Adolph Miller, Lee Miller, Angel Gregg, Audrey Suire, Jean Swiere, and Gloria Blanchard.</p>
<p>Joe is survived by his sister, Lorena Davis of Deweyville; his niece and special caregiver, Lisa Nixon; and numerous other nieces, nephews, and other relatives.</p>
<p>The family would like to thank Dr. Wesley Palmer for his special care to the family and to Joe.</p>
